I have a 6.1 Home Theater System ( Sutherland Technologies). How do i hook this upto my laptop ?

My laptop is an Hp Pavilion Dv7. Is it practicable to do this without an amp or a/v receiver ? What are my best options ? What are my most cost-friendly options ?

A: No, correctly now you have nothing to power the speakers. you can get a cheap surround amplifier for $100-$150 and then buy an audio cable (headphone to Rca)to weld the laptop to the receiver.
